According to some allegedly sound reports, Muhammad’s child bride and the third caliph admitted that the Quran contains grammatical errors, and therefore it is not perfect:

Likewise: {Greater than your hatred of yourselves when you are called upon} The meaning requires that “when” be related to hatred, but the grammar prevents it because of the separation mentioned, so a verb is assumed to indicate it.

Second: It may occur in their speech that this is an explanation of meaning and this is an explanation of grammar, and the difference between them is that the explanation of grammar must take into account the grammatical structure, while the explanation of meaning is not harmed by violating that.

Third: Abu Ubayd said in his book on the virtues of the Qur'an: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us on the authority of Hisham ibn Urwah, on the authority of his father, who said: "I asked Aisha about the melody of the Qur'an, specifically regarding the verse : {These two are indeed magicians} and the verse : {And those who establish prayer and give zakah} and the verse: {Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews And the Sabians} She said: O my nephew, this is the work of the scribes, they made a mistake in the book. This is a sound chain of transmission according to the conditions of the two sheikhs.

He said: Hajjaj told us on the authority of Harun ibn Musa, who said: Al-Zubayr ibn al-Khirrit told me on the authority of Ikrimah, who said: When the Qur’anic manuscripts were written, they were presented to Uthman, and he found in them letters of error. So he said: Do not change them, for the Arabs will change them - or he said: They will pronounce them with their tongues. If the scribe had been from Thaqif and the one dictating from Hudhayl, they would not have been found in it. These letters. Ibn al-Anba included it in the book “Refutation of Those Who Opposed the Uthmanic Codex” and Ibn Ushta in the book “The Codexes”.

Then Ibn al-Anba’i transmitted something similar through the route of ‘Abd al-A’la ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amir, and Ibn Ushta transmitted something similar through the route of Yahya ibn Ya’mar. (Al-Jalal Al-Suyuti, The Book of Mastery in the Sciences of the Qur'an: https://shamela.ws/book/11728/702)
