Osama Abdallah has attempted to save face and respond to my thorough refutation
of his denial that the Bible teaches that Jesus is Yahweh God.
Instead of reading our present response first, we highly encourage our readers to begin with reading
Osama’s initial paper,
then our first response, and follow this up with Osama’s recent
"rebuttal".
Before we even begin addressing Osama’s claims, we need to break down what exactly
Trinitarians believe about God and Jesus on the authority of the Holy Bible.
There is only one, eternal God.
God eternally exists in three distinct, yet inseparable Persons: the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Person of the Son, also known as the Word, became man when he entered time and
space and was born of the Virgin Mary, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Hence, the Lord
Jesus is both God and man at the same time, two natures united in one Person.
Any argument that fails to take these points into consideration is nothing more than
a gross misrepresentation of what historic Trinitarianism has taught. It is one thing to
argue that the Holy Bible does not teach these truths, but it is quite another thing to
attack a view of the Trinity that no informed Trinitarian holds and then claim that the
doctrine of the Trinity has been refuted.
We now get to the heart of the matter. Instead of addressing Osama’s points in
the sequence in which they appear, we have decided to break his points down in sections
and address them topically. We won’t be addressing them sequentially.
Osama writes:
My rebuttal to Sam Shamoun's "Refuting Osama Abdallah on Jeremiah 23:5-6"
article:
The following article is a refutation to Sam Shamoun's article that is located at:
http://www.answering-islam.org/Responses/Osama/jeremiah23.htm.
Below, we will see once again that Jesus, the man created from dust, can
not be GOD Almighty, and most certainly was not ever called GOD Almighty. Sam
Shamoun's article is a response to my article: Answering
Jeremiah 23:5-6: A big blow to Sam Shamoun's trinity nonsense existing in the Old
Testament.
You will also see corrections to some major and sensitive points to Sam Shamoun using
Hebrew references that further debunk the polytheist trinity pagan lie that he believes
in.
RESPONSE:
Our response will show here that, much like his initial article, Osama falls way short
of refuting the fact that Jesus, the man from heaven, is Yahweh God Almighty. We will
again see that Osama cannot rationally refute facts, but is reduced to lying, distorting,
and deliberately misrepresenting what the Holy Bible and his own sources actually say. As
we will be showing, his appeal to Hebrew backfires against him, further discrediting him
as an apologist.
It seems that Osama will just about do and say anything to attack the truth of the Trinity
and promote his belief in a non-existent god, whom Muhammad took from his pagan background,
turning a false pagan god into the true God.
Osama says:
You immediately put a "red dot" on my screen name, which means that I could
not ask further questions, because my text was all blocked. You also halted for a
little while and came up with a bunch of nonsense to save face in front of your audience.
I wonder why I was "red dotted" right after my very first sentence, which
was my very first question also after my peace salutation to everyone in the chat room.
What is it that scared you about me and my questions? You have yet to be a
man of your words and accept my trinity and pornography in the Bible challenge debates on
paltalk that we both agreed on.
Is Mr. Shamoun a coward and a liar, or a man in his words? I'll
let him answer this one for us.
RESPONSE:
Let us set the record straight by exposing more of Osama’s lies. For those
not familiar with what the red dot is, it is a feature on Paltalk given to
the administrators of a room to silence and/or disenable a person in the room.
The reason why Osama was red dotted was because of his failure to comply
with my requests. Instead of waiting for me to finish answering his first question,
he kept trying to bombard the room with questions and written texts. I warned Osama
to be patient and allow me to address one point at a time where I would be only too
glad to refute all of his weak arguments. Osama refused, and was red dotted, so he
had to sit and listen as his points were being refuted and exposed for all to hear.
And again, Osama is lying. There was no halting for a little while on my part, but the
confidence in knowing how easy God has made it to refute the lies and attacks against his
inspired truth, the Holy Bible.
But let us assume, for the sake of argument, that I did take a few seconds to respond.
So what? Frankly, I fail to see what is so bad in a short pause for thinking. Would it be
wrong to take a moment to think about the question in order to insure the best and most
accurate way of responding to it? The real question is: Can we answer? It matters not
whether the answer comes after half a second or after two seconds, or even ten minutes!
Osama’s accusation is ridiculous, and just goes to show the type of (ir)rationality
and thinking he employs.
As far as debating Osama goes, well, after his major loss and his foul-mouthed
disrespectful attitude, we have decided that it isn’t worth pursuing any more live
debates with Osama. He has neither the respect nor the ability to address the issues in
a logical and coherent manner, just as these series of rebuttals will prove.
We will issue the following challenge to Osama:
OSAMA, WE WILL GLADLY DEBATE AND DEFEAT YOU AGAIN REGARDING THE TRINITY AND PORNOGRAPHY
IN THE BIBLE AND THE QURAN, PROVIDED THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING: PLEASE SHOW US
THAT YOU ARE WORTH INVESTING AND SPENDING OUR TIME ON BY PROVIDING JUST ONE COHERENT,
RATIONAL, AND LOGICAL REPLY TO OUR RESPONSES, INSTEAD OF THE INCOHERENT BABBLE THAT YOU
KEEP DISHING OUT. IF AND WHEN YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DOING SO, WE WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO
DEFEAT YOU AGAIN. YOU HAVE OUR WORD ON IT.
And now on to our rebuttal where we document how Osama has proven that he is not
up to the task of debating us, whether in a live debate or via written format.
OSAMA ON THE BOOK OF HEBREWS
Osama states:
Also, below you will see how I exposed Sam Shamoun for why he LIED and
only quoted Hebrews 1:8,10,11,12 and skipped Hebrews 1:9 (which refutes his trinity pagan
lie), to twist the quotes and to deceive his reader and to falsely prove his trinity pagan
lie.
Later on he writes:
Notice how Sam Shamoun, the liar, skipped Hebrews 1:9 above, and only gave Hebrews
1:8,10,11,12. The reason he did this is because Hebrews 1:9 refutes his polytheist
trinitarian pagan lie. Here is how Hebrews 1:8-12 read from the King James Version Bible:
Hebrews 1
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is
for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath
anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the
heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the
same, and thy years shall not fail.
Few points to mention:
The verses are talking about GOD Almighty's Creation and Him laying down
the foundation of the earth, and the throne of Jesus on earth.
"therefore God, even thy God,
hath annointed thee" is really saying "therefore
leader, even your GOD Almighty, hath annointed thee". The reason I say this
is because as I proved, even satan was given the same "God" title that Jesus was
given:
"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they
cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (From the NIV Bible, 2 Corinthians 4:4)"
Satan was called "hotheos", which is the same exact word given to Jesus
throughout the New Testament. Yet, the trinitarian pagan liars try to deceive the
reader and give false conclusions that Jesus is the Creator of the universe, similar to
what Sam Shamoun the liar tried to do by removing Hebrews 1:9 from his quotes above.
Satanic indeed!
Sam Shamoun, the liar, tried to prove that Jesus is the one who created
Heavens and earth and layed the earth's foundations through twisting the quotes above.
RESPONSE:
It is easy to level accusations such as ‘liar’, but it is quite another thing
to be able to prove that one is actually lying. As anyone can see, I didn’t even quote
the entirety of verse 8, let alone 9, since I was interested in citing only that part
which was relevant in showing that the author was speaking of the Son in vv. 10-12. I
didn’t want the readers to miss the fact that the subject of these verses is the Son
of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. That Osama missed it doesn’t surprise me at all, since
I have come to expect his inept handling and reading of the Holy Scriptures.
Since Osama wanted me to read Hebrews 1:9, presumably since he thinks that it refutes
me, I have decided to quote the entire chapter:
"Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the
prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by HIS SON, whom he
appointed THE HEIR OF ALL THINGS, THROUGH WHOM ALSO HE CREATED THE WORLD.He is
the radiance of the glory of God and THE EXACT IMPRINT (charakter) OF HIS NATURE,
and HE UPHOLDS THE UNIVERSE BY THE WORD OF HIS POWER. After making purification for sins,
he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much
superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. For to
which of the angels did God ever say, ‘You are my Son, today I have begotten
you’? Or again, ‘I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a
son’? And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, ‘Let
all God's angels worship him.’ Of the angels he says, ‘He makes his angels
winds, and his ministers a flame of fire.’ But of the Son he says, ‘Your
throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your
kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has
anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.’ And, ‘You,
Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of
your hands; they will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment, like
a robe you will roll them up, like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same,
and your years will have no end.’ And to which of the angels has he ever
said, ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your
feet’? Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of
those who are to inherit salvation?" Hebrews 1:1-14 ESV
As anyone reading the context of Hebrews 1 can see, all the series of OT citations are
applied to the Son. Osama is either deliberately lying or has chosen to misread the text
when he says that Hebrews 1:10-12 is addressing God (meaning the Father), since the
inspired author of Hebrews is clearly applying ALL the OT passages to the Son. This is
made more evident from the fact that, in verses 2-3, the inspired author has already stated
that God created the world (or universe) through the Son, meaning that the Lord Jesus is
the Agent of creation, and that the Son is the one actively sustaining all creation by
his all-powerful Word!
In light of this, we now break down the implications of the entire chapter in order
to see its significance in affirming the full and eternal Deity, as well as the perfect
humanity, of the Lord Jesus:
1. Jesus is the Agent of Creation, the very One who brought all things into existence.
(1:2, 10-12)
There are several NT passages that affirm that the Lord Jesus is the One by whom the
Father created everything. (Cf. John 1:3, 10; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:16-17;
Revelation 3:14)
2. Jesus sustains all creation by his powerful word, again establishing that he is the
Almighty. (1:3)
This too is repeated in other places. (Cf. Philippians 3:20-21; Colossians 1:17)
3. Jesus is the exact imprint of God's substance, which means that he is fully God in
essence. (1:3)
The word, charakter, initially referred to the exact imprint left by a signet
ring after having been placed in wax. In other words, the text is essentially saying that
Christ perfectly and exactly reflects God’s very own eternal essence, being the
perfect imprint of the Father’s nature, which means that the Lord Jesus is the
eternal and infinite God. A finite creature cannot perfectly duplicate the very essence of
the infinite and inexhaustible God. Only one who is infinite and inexhaustible Deity can
be described in such language. Noted NT Scholar Murray J. Harris states:
"When the Son is said to be ‘the radiant light of God’s glory (on
apaugasma te doxes)’ (v.3 JB) and to bear ‘the imprint of God's nature
(charakter tes hupostaseos autou)’ (v. 3), he is being described as
the intrinsic possessor of the nature of God without actually being given the generic
title of ‘God.’ (Harris, Jesus as God - The New Testament Use of Theos in
Reference to Jesus [Grand Rapids; Baker Book House, 1992], p. 222; bold emphasis ours)
4. Jesus is the Son of God even before the creation of the universe. (1:2, 5)
Again, many NT citations affirm this point (cf. Mark 12:6-8; John 1:1-18;
3:16-17; 11:27; 17:1-5; Galatians 4:4).
5. Jesus is the Heir of all things. (1:2)
This, too, is stated in other passages (cf. Matthew 28:18; Mark 12:6-8; Luke 10:22;
John 3:35; 13:3; 16:15; 17:2,10; Colossians 1:13-18).
According to the Quran, the scripture that Osama erroneously thinks is the word of
the true God, it is God who is the Heir of all things:
"To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: It is He who
gives life and death; and He has power over all things." S. 57:2
"To God belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth; And God
hath power over all things." S. 3:189
"And certainly We! We it is Who give life, and cause death, and We are THE
HEIRS." S. 15:23
"Lo! We, only We, inherit the earth and all who are thereon, and unto Us
they are returned." S. 19:40
Even the author of the Quran realized that the Heir of creation is God Almighty, which
means that if Christ is indeed the Heir (which he in fact is, praise be his name!), then
he must be God Almighty! Again, note the logic behind this argument:
Only God is the Heir of all things.
Jesus is the Heir of all things.
Therefore, the Lord Jesus is God.
6. Jesus is the Author of Salvation and provides purification for sins. (1:3b)
This presupposes Jesus’ humanity and death, that the Lord Jesus truly became human
and died in order to make purification for sins (cf. Hebrews 2:9-17; 9:11-15; 13:20).
7. Jesus sits at God's right hand, actively ruling as eternal King. (1:3b, 8-9, 13)
The NT consistently teaches that after his resurrection, the Lord Jesus ascended into
heaven to sit enthroned at his Father’s right hand (cf. Mark 14:61-62; Acts 2:33-34;
7:55-56; Colossians 3:1-2; 1 Peter 3:18-22).
8. Jesus is worshiped by angels. (1:6)
9. Jesus is God. (1:8)
There are several Old and New Testament passages which directly call Jesus God (cf.
Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1, 18; 20:28; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 1:1).
10. Jesus is Yahweh. (1:10-12; Ps. 102:24-27)
11. Jesus is immutable as opposed to the creation that is changing. (1:10-12)
This is reiterated elsewhere:
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." Hebrews 13:8
It is quite clear that the inspired author truly believed that the Lord Jesus is Yahweh
God Almighty, the eternal Son of God, and is the reason why he had no problem attributing
a Psalm regarding Yahweh’s role as Creator to the divine Son.
Now Osama tries to raise the issue of Hebrews 1:9 where it says that the Son has a God
over him. Let us repeat the passage one more time, also including verse 8 for context:
"But of the Son he says, ‘Thy throne, O God, is for ever and
ever, the righteous scepter is the scepter of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness
and hated lawlessness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of
gladness beyond thy comrades.’"
Osama somehow imagines that this passage undermines the entire Trinitarian position
regarding the Son. Yet this only exposes Osama’s willful ignorance of Trinitarian
teaching, as well as a deliberate neglect of the very context from which this passage was
taken. Notice that the inspired author had no problem asserting that the Lord Jesus is
fully, eternally God, the Son of God, the Creator and Sustainer of all creation, while
also affirming that Christ has a God over him. The author was aware, much like informed
Trinitarians, that the Son entered time and space and became a real human being. As such,
the author could see, much like informed Trinitarians do, that Jesus’ (the eternal
Son’s) eternal Father had become Jesus’ (the Incarnate One’s) God.
Christ no longer existed only as a Divine Being, but also became a true human being.
And because of the reality of the Incarnation, the Father begins relating to his Son as
his God.
We will break it down so that even Osama can understand:
The Father is the God of all creation.
Jesus became part of creation when he became a real human being,
when he was born from the Virgin Mary.
Therefore, the Father becomes Jesus’ God.
In other words, it is not an either/or situation, but a both/and reality. The dilemma
is only in Osama’s imagination.
Osama then mentions 2 Corinthians 4:4 where Satan is allegedly called the god of this
age, and claims that this is identical to the NT depiction of Jesus. In the first place,
if Satan is being referred to here, this doesn’t mean the NT writers are calling him
god in the same exact sense that they call either the Father or the Son God. No NT writer
says that Satan is the Agent of creation, the exact imprint of God’s essence, the
Heir of all creation, the Sustainer of the universe, that the angels worship him etc.
Yet all these things are said of the Lord Jesus.
Second, the text (if it is even referring to Satan) is not calling him God, but
"the god of this age", a major difference. This points to the fact that he is
the ruler of this current age, which is characterized by sin and wickedness, since both
the world and sinners are under his bondage and need to be set free by the power of the
Lord Jesus Christ (cf. Luke 4:6; John 8:34-36; 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; Galatians 1:4;
Ephesians 2:2; 2 Timothy 2:26; Hebrews 2:14-15; 1 John 3:8, 5:19; Revelation 2:13; 13:3).
Yet even Satan is under the complete and sovereign control of the Triune God, and is
only ruling because the true God has permitted it for the time being and for a greater
purpose (cf. Psalm 33:10-11; 115:3; 135:6; Proverbs 16:1-4; 19:21; 20:24; 21:1, 30;
Daniel 2:37-38; 4:21-22, 24-26, 34-35; Revelation 1:5; 17:14, 17; 19:16).
This leads us to our third point. It is not at all certain that 2 Corinthians 4:4 is
referring to Satan. Let us quote the passage, and its surrounding context, and see what we
can glean from it:
"Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not
lose heart. We have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways; we refuse to practice cunning
or to tamper with God's (tou theou) word, but by the open statement of the
truth we would commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God (tou
theou). And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are
perishing. In their case the god (ho theos) of this world (or age - aionos)
has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel
of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God (tou theou). For what we preach
is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus'
sake. For it is the God (ho theos) who said, ‘Let light shine out of
darkness,’ who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of
the glory of God (tou theou) in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure
in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God (to theou)
and not to us." 2 Corinthians 4:1-7
The several uses of the noun theos, God, points in the direction that Paul has
the same exact referent in view, which in this case would be the Father. There are other
reasons for seeing the Father as the God who has blinded the mind of the unbelievers. For
instance, the Scriptures teach that the Lord Jesus actively rules over this age, and the
age to come:
"which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him sit
at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and
dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age (aioni) but also in
that which is to come; and he has put all things under his feet and has made him the
head over all things for the church, which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all
in all." Ephesians 1:20-23
The Holy Bible also teaches that, as a result of a person’s stubbornness and
refusal to accept the light that God has given him or her, God then takes away the little
ability he or she may have for seeing and believing:
"And he said, ‘Go, and say to this people: "Hear and hear, but do
not understand; see and see, but do not perceive." Make the heart of this
people fat, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and
hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.’"
Isaiah 6:9-10
"And he said, ‘He who has ears to hear, let him hear.’ And when he was
alone, those who were about him with the twelve asked him concerning the parables. And he
said to them, ‘To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those
outside everything is in parables; so that they may indeed see but not perceive,
and may indeed hear but not understand; lest they should turn again, and be
forgiven’ … And he said to them, ‘Take heed what you hear; the
measure you give will be the measure you get, and still more will be given you. For to him
who has will more be given; and from him who has not, even what he has will be taken
away.’" Mark 4:9-12, 24-25
"Jesus said, ‘For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see
may see, and that those who see may become blind.’ Some of the Pharisees near
him heard this, and they said to him, ‘Are we also blind?’ Jesus said to them,
‘If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, "We
see," your guilt remains.’" John 9:39-41
"Jesus said to them, ‘The light is with you for a little longer. Walk
while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you; he who walks in the darkness
does not know where he goes. While you have the light, believe in the light,
that you may become sons of light.’ When Jesus had said this, he departed and hid
himself from them. Though he had done so many signs before them, yet they did not
believe in him; it was that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
‘Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been
revealed?’ Therefore they could not believe. For Isaiah again said, ‘He has
blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and
perceive with their heart, and turn for me to heal them.’ Isaiah said this
because he saw his glory and spoke of him." John 12:35-41
"When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in great
numbers. And he expounded the matter to them from morning till evening, testifying to the
kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the law of Moses and from
the prophets. And some were convinced by what he said, while others disbelieved. So, as
they disagreed among themselves, they departed, after Paul had made one statement:
‘The Holy Spirit was right in saying to your fathers through Isaiah the prophet:
"Go to this people, and say, You shall indeed hear but never understand, and you
shall indeed see but never perceive. For this people's heart has grown dull, and their
ears are heavy of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should perceive
with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn for
me to heal them." Let it be known to you then that this salvation of God has been
sent to the Gentiles; they will listen.’" Acts 28:23-28
"I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! I myself am an Israelite,
a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected his
people whom he foreknew. Do you not know what the scripture says of Eli'jah, how he pleads
with God against Israel? ‘Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have demolished
thy altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.’ But what is God's reply to
him? ‘I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to
Ba'al.’ So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if it is
by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.
What then? Israel failed to obtain what it sought. The elect obtained it, but the rest
were hardened, as it is written, ‘God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that
should not see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day.’ And David
says, ‘Let their table become a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a retribution for
them; let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see, and bend their backs for
ever.’" Romans 11:1-10
Thus, what Paul is actually saying is that the God of this age, who is the Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, has blinded the mind of the unbelievers as a consequence of their
sinful rebellion against the God who has clearly revealed his truth to them. This is a
point which Paul reiterates elsewhere:
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about
God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the
world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly
perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse; for although they
knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in
their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they
became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man
or birds or animals or reptiles. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their
hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they
exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than
the Creator, who is blessed for ever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to
dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the
men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one
another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due
penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave
them up to a base mind and to improper conduct." Romans 1:18-28
"The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power
and with pretended signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are to
perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends
upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, so that all may be
condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
Paul has the backing of the Old Testament on this point:
"But my people did not listen to my voice; Israel would have none of me.
So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels."
Psalm 81:11-12
"O LORD, why dost thoumake us err from thy ways and harden our heart,
so that we fear thee not? Return for the sake of thy servants, the tribes of thy
heritage." Isaiah 63:17
"And I said to their children in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of
your fathers, nor observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols. I the
LORD am your God; walk in my statutes, and be careful to observe my ordinances, and hallow
my sabbaths that they may be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I the LORD
am your God. But the children rebelled against me; they did not walk in my statutes,
and were not careful to observe my ordinances, by whose observance man shall live; they
profaned my sabbaths. Then I thought I would pour out my wrath upon them and spend my
anger against them in the wilderness. But I withheld my hand, and acted for the sake of my
name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had
brought them out. Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness that I would scatter them
among the nations and disperse them through the countries, because they had not
executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes and profaned my sabbaths, and their
eyes were set on their fathers' idols. Moreover I gave them statutes that were not
good and ordinances by which they could not have life; and I defiled them through
their very gifts in making them offer by fire all their first-born, that I might horrify
them; I did it that they might know that I am the LORD." Ezekiel 20:18-26
Now, quite obviously, if this passage is referring to the true God then the qualified
sense does not apply as it would if Satan were in view. God isn’t just the God of
this age, but of every age. Paul's point would then be that despite this current age being evil,
and even though Satan is currently ruling over this fallen world, God is still sovereign
over all creation and he has both the Devil and the entire world under his control.
If this, in fact, is the case, then Osama’s appeal to 2 Corinthians 4:4 is
misplaced since this isn’t calling a creature god, but is referring to the
Father as the God of this age. And yet this backfires against Osama and
proves my point, since, according to Ephesians 1:21 (cited above), the Lord
Jesus is the ruler of this age which implies that he is God! Again, this is
indirect evidence since one can legitimately argue that Jesus is a creature
whom God has appointed to rule over creation as his representative. But
when this statement is seen in light of the other data that explicitly affirms
that Christ is God Almighty, it then becomes clear that Jesus rules all ages
because he is the Sovereign Lord God of all creation.
So much for Osama’s arguments regarding Hebrews.
OSAMA ON PAUL AND ROMANS
Osama tries to deny that Paul was addressing Jesus as Yahweh. Let us see how well he does:
Few points to mention:
Notice how Sam Shamoun's English translation is all twisted. The
word "Lord" is mixed and scrambled between Jesus and his Creator, GOD Almighty,
the ULTIMATE LORD! The trinitarian liars invented these cheap tricks to decieve [sic]
the ordinary and simple-minded readers, who follow blindly and don't bother to reason, to
prove the polytheist trinity pagan lie. Here is what Allah Almighty Said about them
in the Noble Quran:
"Know they not Allah Knoweth what they conceal and what they reveal? And there are
among them illiterates, who know not the Book (i.e., the Bible), but (see therein their
own) desires, and they do nothing but conjecture. Then woe to those who write the
Book with their own hands, and then say: 'This is from Allah,' To traffic with it for a
miserable price! Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they
make thereby.
(The Noble Quran, 2:77-78)"
RESPONSE:
It is actually Osama who is now lying and inventing cheap tricks to deceive the
ordinary and simple-minded readers into following his non-existent, man-made god, failing
to prove that Islam is true, and even dares to twist his own book, the Quran. Osama is
blatantly lying here regarding the intent and meaning of surah 2:77-78.
Osama is evidently trying to use this passage to cast doubt on the authenticity of the
Bible. But let us see what happens when we read this passage in its context. It seems that
we need to teach Osama how to interpret and understand his own religious text:
"Can you (O men of faith) still earnestly desire that they (the Jews) will believe
in you? And verily a party (fariq) among them hear the Word of God, then they
pervert it knowingly after they have understood it. And when they meet the believers
they say, ‘We believe,’ but when they meet each other in private they say,
‘Why do you tell them what God has revealed to you (in the Torah), that they may
engage you in argument about it before their God? What do you not understand?’ Do
they not know that God knows what they conceal and what they make public? Among them are
unlettered folk who know the Scripture not except from hearsay. THEY BUT GUESS."
S. 2:75-78
Once the passage is read in its proper context, we discover that it is not speaking
of Jews and Christians corrupting their Holy Book, but rather unlettered Jews who were
ignorant of the content of the scriptures who then falsified their own revelation for gain.
Some Muslims claim that S. 2:79 is referring to a different group from those mentioned
in 2:78 since the group in 2:78 are said to be unlettered (ummiyuuna), implying
that they couldn’t read or write. Based on this assertion, it is then claimed that
these unlettered folk wouldn’t be able to write anything with their hands, and hence
cannot be the same folk mentioned in S. 2:79.
This interpretation is based on a gross misunderstanding of what the term ‘unlettered’
actually means. A careful reading of the Quran shows that this term doesn’t
necessarily refer to people who couldn’t read or write. Rather, it refers to people
who were unfamiliar with the inspired Books of God. Note for instance the following
passage:
He it is Who hath sent among the unlettered ones (ummiyyeena) a messenger
of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them
the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest, S. 62:2
Pickthall
Unlettered here cannot literally mean that Muhammad was sent to people who
couldn’t read or write, since there were hundreds of Arabs who were reading and
writing both before and during Muhammad’s time. In fact, Muslim traditions assert
that Muhammad had Arab scribes who would write down the Quran for him.
The meaning of unlettered becomes clear from the following passages:
If they argue with you, then say, "I have simply submitted myself to GOD; I and
those who follow me." You shall proclaim to those who received the scripture, as
well as those who did not (ummiyyeena), "Would you submit?" If they
submit, then they have been guided, but if they turn away, your sole mission is to deliver
this message. GOD is Seer of all people. S. 3:20 Khalifa
And this is a Book which We have revealed as a blessing: so follow it and be righteous,
that ye may receive mercy: Lest ye should say: "The Book was sent down to two
Peoples before us, and for our part, we remained unacquainted with all that they learned
by assiduous study:" Or lest ye should say: "If the Book had only been
sent down to us, we should have followed its guidance better than they." Now then
hath come unto you a clear (sign) from your Lord, - and a guide and a mercy: then who
could do more wrong than one who rejecteth Allah's signs, and turneth away therefrom? In
good time shall We requite those who turn away from Our signs, with a dreadful penalty,
for their turning away. S. 6:155-157
Some assert that Muhammad was called unlettered in the sense that he didn’t know
how to read or write (cf. S. 7:157-158).
Again, the Quran explains in what sense Muhammad was unlettered:
And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst thou
write it with thy right hand, for then might those have doubted, who follow falsehood.
But it is clear revelations in the hearts of those who have been given knowledge, and none
deny Our revelations save wrong-doers. S. 28:48-49 Pickthall
Muhammad is unlettered, not in the sense that he couldn’t read or write, but
that he hadn’t read or written down any revealed Scripture prior to his allegedly
"receiving" the Quran. This is a view with which many Muslims wholeheartedly
agree. (Cf. http://www.quran.org/ap28.htm,
http://www.quran.org/gatut.html)
This is precisely what S. 2:78-79 is saying, namely that a group who were unlettered,
in the sense of not knowing the scriptures, personally decided to concoct their own false
revelation for gain.
Al-Tabari provides some support for this proposed interpretation by citing Ibn Abbas.
Muslim turned atheist Ibn Warraq, while writing about the different definitions proposed
by scholars regarding the meaning of ummiyyun, says:
"Bell thinks 'ummiyyun means belonging to the 'ummah or community,
while Blachere translates it as ‘Gentiles,’ in the sense of ‘pagan.’
For the French scholar it is clear that the word 'ummi designates pagan Arabs, who,
unlike the Jews and Christians, had not received any revelation and were thus living in
ignorance of the divine law. Tabari does indeed quote some traditions that give this sense
to the word ummi: according to Ibn 'Abbas, ‘'ummiyyun (refers to) some
people who did not believe in a prophet sent by God, nor in a scripture revealed by God;
and they wrote a scripture with their own hands. Then they said to the ignorant, common
people: "This is from God."’ However, Tabari himself does not accept
this interpretation, instead gives a totally unconvincing and improbable account of the
derivation of the word: ‘I am of the opinion that an illiterate person is called
ummi, relating him in his lack of ability to write to his mother (umm), because
writing was something which men, and not women, did, so that a man who could not write and
form letters was linked to his mother, and not to his father, in his ignorance of
writing.’" (Warraq, "Introduction," What the Koran Really Says,
Language, Text & Commentary [Prometheus Books, 2002; ISBN: 157392945X], p. 44;
underline emphasis ours)
Others believe that ‘unlettered’ actually refers to the Gentiles, i.e. that
Muhammad was a Gentile prophet who was supposedly sent to the Gentile communities (cf.
http://www.mostmerciful.com/ummi.htm).
Furthermore, even if it were speaking of Bible corruption, this still wouldn’t
prove the Muslim claim. The text says that only a party of them wrote false revelation and
sold it for gain. The Quran says that there were others who would not allow the revelation
to be tampered with for the sake of monetary profit:
"And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in God,
and that which has been revealed to you, in that which has been revealed to them,
bowing in humility to God. They will not sell the signs of God for miserable gain.
For them is a reward with their Lord, and God is swift in account." S. 3:199
And:
Those unto whom We have given the Scripture, WHO READ IT WITH THE RIGHT READING,
those believe in it. And whoso disbelieveth in it, those are they who are the losers. S. 2:121 Pickthall
THEY ARE NOT ALL ALIKE. Of the People of the Scripture there is a staunch community
who recite the revelations of Allah in the night season, falling prostrate (before
Him). They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency,
and vie one with another in good works. These are of the righteous. S. 3:113-114 Pickthall
These passages presuppose that the Jews and Christians had uncorrupt copies of the Holy
Bible in their possession, otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to read it correctly.
Thus, surah 2:79 in no way proves that Jews and Christians corrupted the Bible to the
extent that it no longer accurately preserves and reflects what was originally written.
Now, if Osama is merely saying that there was a group that tried to tamper
with the Bible, whether by corrupting the text or by misinterpretation, no more
no less, than we would have to agree. There have been people who pretended
to be true believers that tried tampering with God's pure Word. But in light of
the fact that there were thousands of copies circulating in the possession of hundreds,
and thousands, of Jews and Christians all throughout the world, who loved the Bible
and believed it to be the very Word of God, trying to then corrupt the Bible wholesale
would take a miracle. It would entail that all these Jews and Christians agree to
allow their Scriptures to be corrupted in the same exact places, or for the corrupters
to get a hold of every single manuscript in order to insure that all the texts reflected the same
corruptions in the same exact places. This is utterly improbable, if not downright impossible.
Furthermore, this same charge can be levelled against Muslims, since Muslim records
show that there were individuals, like Uthman, who corrupted the Quran and even burned
primary codices. The Quran even refers to such corruption:
Like as We sent down on the dividers Those who made the Quran INTO SHREDS."
S. 15:90-91
Scholar in Islamic studies Alphonse Mingana comments on this passage:
"Finally, if we understand correctly the following verse of Suratul-Hijr (xv.
90-91): ‘As we sent down upon (punished) the dividers (of the Scripture?) who broke
up the Koran into parts,’ we are tempted to state that even when the Prophet was
alive, some changes were noticed in the recital of certain verses of his sacred book.
There is nothing very surprising in this fact, since Muhammad could not read or write, and
was at the mercy of friends for the writing of his revelations, or, more frequently, of
some mercenary amanuenses." (Mingana, "Three Ancient Korans", The
Origins of the Koran - Classic Essays on Islam’s Holy Book, ed. by Ibn Warraq
[Prometheus Books, Amherst NY, 1998], p. 84; bold emphasis ours)
Mingana records the Muslim reaction to Uthman's burning and wholesale destruction of
primary, competing Quranic codices:
"The book, drawn up by this method, continued to be authoritative and the standard
text till 29-30 A.H. under the caliphate of 'Uthman. At this time the wonderful
faithfulness of Arab memory was defective, and according to a general weakness of human
nature, the Believers have been heard reciting the verses of the Koran in a
different way. This fact was due specially, it is said, to the hundreds of dialects used
in Arabia. Zaid was again asked to put an end to these variations which had begun to
scandalize the votaries of the Prophet. That indefatigable compiler, assisted by three
men from the tribe of Quraish, started to do what he had already done more than fifteen
years before. The previous copies made from the first one written under Abu Bakr were
all destroyed by special order of the caliph: the revelation sent down from heaven was
one, and the book containing this revelation must be one. The critic remarks that the only
guarantee of the authenticity of the Koran is the testimony of Zaid; and for this reason,
a scholar who doubts whether a given word has been really used by Muhammad, or whether it
has been only employed by Zaid on his own authority, or on the meagre testimony of some
Arab reciters, does not transgress the strict laws of high criticism. If the memory of
the followers of the Prophet has been found defective from the year 15 to 30 A.H. when
Islam was proclaimed over all Arabia, why may it not have been defective from 612 to 632
C.E. when the Prophet was often obliged to defend his own life against terrible
aggressors? And if the first recension of Zaid contained always the actual words of
Muhammad, why was this compiler not content with re-establishing it in its entirety,
and why was the want of a new recension felt by 'Uthman? How can it be that in the
short space of fifteen years such wonderful variants could have crept into the few copies
preceding the reign of the third caliph that he found himself bound to destroy all
those he could find? If 'Uthman was certainly inspired only by religious purposes, why
did his enemies call him ‘THE TEARER OF THE BOOKS’ and why did they fasten on
him the following stigma: ‘He found the Korans many and left one; HE TORE UP THE
BOOK’? ..." (Ibn Warraq, p. 85; bold and capital emphasis ours)
Mingana, in his article The Transmission of the Koran, cites Muslim historian
al-Tabari:
"... ‘Ali b. Abi Talib, and ‘Uthman b. Affan wrote the Revelation
to the Prophet; but in their absence it was Ubai b. Ka’b and Zaid b. Thabit who wrote
it.’ He informs us, too, that the people said to ‘Uthman: ‘The Koran was in
many books, and thou discreditedst them all but one’; and after the Prophet's
death, ‘People gave him as successor Abu Bakr, who in turn was succeeded by
‘Umar; and both of them acted according to the Book and the Sunnah of the Apostle of
God- and praise be to God the Lord of the worlds; then people elected ‘Uthman b.
‘Affan WHO ... TORE UP THE BOOK.’" (Ibn Warraq, p. 102; bold and
capital emphasis ours)
The preceding data shows that the Quran has in fact been tampered with, suffering
textual corruption, a fact admitted by both Muslim and non-Muslim sources alike.
Osama continues:
Here are the Romans 10:9-13 and Joel 2:32 verses that Sam Shamoun
gave from the King James Version Bible:
Romans 10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt
be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is
rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Joel 2
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall
call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall
be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
To the Reader:
Where in these verses do you see Jesus being called GOD Almighty or Yahweh?!
RESPONSE:
Here is where we see Jesus being called God Almighty and Yahweh:
"because, if you CONFESS with your lips THAT JESUS IS LORD and believe in
your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his
heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved. The scripture
says, ‘No one who believes in him will be put to shame.’ For there is no
distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches
upon ALL WHO CALL UPON HIM. For, ‘every one who calls upon the name of the
Lord will be saved.’" Romans 10:9-13
The context clearly shows that the Lord, whom a person must call on for salvation, is the
very Lord whom believers must confess, namely Jesus. Still not convinced? Well then, let
us make it even clearer:
"Why? Because they did not pursue it through faith, but as if it were based on
works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone, as it is written, "Behold,
I am laying in Zion a stone that will make men stumble, a rock that will make them fall;
and he who believes in him will not be put to shame.’" Roman 9:32-33
According to the above, the One whom believers are not put to shame for believing in is
the Lord Jesus, the very One whom Jews stumbled over. This serves to identify Christ as
the Lord of Romans 10:11. Again, in Romans we read:
"If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then,
whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and
lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. Why do you pass
judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we shall all
stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, ‘As I live, says the
Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.’
So each of us shall give account of himself to God.’" Romans 14:8-11
According to Paul, Jesus rose from the dead so that he might be the Lord of both the
living and the dead, indicating that the One whom Paul said was Lord of all in Romans
10:12 is this same Lord Jesus. Furthermore, Paul says here that we all must stand before
God’s judgment seat and that every tongue and knee will bow before the Lord God. Paul
says elsewhere that the Lord God, whom we will have to stand before in judgment, the One
whom all will bow to and praise, is actually Jesus Christ:
"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each
one may receive good or evil, according to what he has done in the body." 2 Corinthians 5:10
"Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above
every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and
under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of
God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11
Note again the implication of the preceding statements:
Every knee will bow before God and stand before his judgment seat.
Every knee will bow before Jesus and stand before his judgment seat.
Therefore, Jesus is God.
It’s not over yet. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 1:2, says that Christians everywhere
called upon the name of the Lord Jesus:
"To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus,
called to be saints together with all those who IN EVERY PLACE CALL ON THE NAME OF OUR
LORD JESUS CHRIST, both their Lord and ours:"
Now contrast this with Romans 10:13 again:
"For, ‘every one who CALLS UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD will be
saved.’"
We’re just beginning. Notice what else Paul says about the Lord Jesus:
For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: sending his own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh…
But you are not in the flesh, you are IN the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of
God DWELLS IN YOU. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does
not belong to him. But if Christ is IN YOU, although your bodies are dead
because of sin, your spirits are alive because of righteousness. Romans 8:3, 9-10
"to them belong the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh,
comes the Messiah, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen." Romans 9:5
NRSV
Paul, in these passages, affirms the following things about Jesus:
He was God’s Son even before he appeared in the likeness of sinful flesh.
God’s Spirit is also Christ’s Spirit, implying a unity and coequality between
the Father and the Son.
Christ, like the Holy Spirit, lives in all believers, indicating that Christ is
omnipresent. Since omnipresence is a divine quality, this shows that Paul believed Jesus
is God.
Paul confirms this conclusion by stating that Christ is God over all, and also has a
human ancestry that stems from Israel. Hence, according to Paul, Christ is both God and
man, divine and human, at the same time.
Osama next asserts:
Paul, who wrote the book of Romans, never even met Jesus in person, nor
was he ever from among Jesus' 12 disciples. Paul claimed that Jesus came to him
while he was on his way to Damascus and annointed [sic] him to be an apostle.
However, many, even Christian theologians, reject Paul and his
false books.
RESPONSE:
This is coming from a gent who follows a man that never met Jesus, nor was able to
prove that he was a real prophet of God. Please listen to our debate for the details:
http://abrahamic-faith.com/debates.html.
Paul, on the other hand, was confirmed supernaturally by God Almighty through signs and
wonders, and had the Apostles of Christ personally testifying to his apostleship:
"But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord,
went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that
if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to
Jerusalem. Now as he journeyed he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven
flashed about him. And he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, ‘Saul,
Saul, why do you persecute me?’ And he said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And he
said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting; but rise and enter the city, and you
will be told what you are to do.’ … So Anani'as departed and entered the house.
And laying his hands on him he said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared
to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may regain your sight and be
filled with the Holy Spirit.’ And immediately something like scales fell from
his eyes and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized, and took food and was
strengthened. For several days he was with the disciples at Damascus." Acts 9:1-6, 17-19
"In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to be proud of my work for God. For I will
not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has wrought through me to win
obedience from the Gentiles, by word and deed, by the power of signs and wonders, by
the power of the Holy Spirit, so that from Jerusalem and as far round as Illyr'icum
I have fully preached the gospel of Christ," Romans 15:17-19
"Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are not
you my workmanship in the Lord? If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to
you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 9:1-2
"The signs of a true apostle were performed among you in all patience, with
signs and wonders and mighty works." 2 Corinthians 12:12
"And count the forbearance of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved
brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, speaking of this as he
does in all his letters. There are some things in them hard to understand, which the
ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other
scriptures." 2 Peter 3:15-16
Even the earliest Muslim writers affirmed Paul’s discipleship:
And there are no GENUINE Christian theologians that deny Paul’s Apostleship. There
may be liberals that claim to be believers that do so, but these same liberals can be used
to refute and expose Muhammad as a fraud. See the following articles for the evidence:
Jesus in Matthew 21:12-17 was only quoting the Old Testament when he said
"‘It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer"; but you
make it a den of robbers.’" He wasn't saying that it was his house, or he
is GOD Almighty Himself.
Also, Psalm 8:1-2 is not a [sic] directly connected to the praise that Jesus
received in the temple, because:
There were no infants or babes in there.
Jesus again ONLY QUOTED the Old Testament and Jesus was directing the praise
to GOD Almighty.
No one in that incident called Jesus GOD Almighty. This is only in
the twisted mind of the polytheist trinitarian pagans.
RESPONSE:
Jesus was only quoting the OT? Really? And there were no infants around? Again, really?
Is that why the context says otherwise?
"But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he
did, AND THE CHILDREN CRYING OUT IN THE TEMPLE, "Hosanna TO THE Son of David!’
they were indignant; and they said to him, ‘Do you hear what these are
saying?’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Yes; have you never read, "Out of
the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast brought perfect praise"?’
Matthew 21:15-16
So children do not include infants? Says whom? Doesn’t the word children also
include infants, or are infants considered adults and therefore do not come under the
classification of children?
As the text shows, the chief priests and scribes were irate over the children directing
their praise TO Jesus, since they would have no problem with the children praising
God. Jesus is quoting the passage to silence the chief priests and scribes for complaining
that the children were praising him. Christ was essentially telling them that the
children’s praise of his own person was justifiable since they were fulfilling what
Scripture said would happen when children are in the presence of God. And since Jesus is
God in the flesh, they were doing the only logical thing that should be done, namely
praise their God who was now standing before them as a man!
But again, this is the best Osama can do.
OSAMA ON 1 PETER
Osama chants:
First of all, 1 Peter 2:3-4 above says ".....but
in God's sight chosen and precious;". This verse is
clearly separating Jesus from his Creator, GOD Almighty.
Also, Psalm 34:8 above is praising those who seek refuge in GOD Almighty.
Interestingly, Muslims before the recitation of the Noble Quran are commanded to always
seek refuge in GOD Almighty from satan.
Thus far, the polytheist trinitarian pagan poor Sam Shamoun has proven absolutely
nothing!! On the contrary, he lied and twisted Hebrews 1:9 as clearly shown above to
prove his pagan lie.
I feel sorry for him and for the likes of him. He constantly says "if LORD
Jesus is willing". He is guilty in profaning GOD Almighty's Holy Name and
putting a creation's name above the LORD GOD Almighty. Sam Shamoun and the likes of
him from the polytheist pagans are guilty of blasphemy, and I pray that he and every pagan
who reads this paper to repent and seek forgiveness from GOD Almighty and to embrace
Islam, the only Truth today to Praise and Glorify GOD Almighty, because we associate no
partners created from dust and wood with Him!
RESPONSE:
It is really tiresome and sad that we must constantly spell things out for Osama in
order for him to get the point. Osama thinks that since Jesus is distinguished from God,
he cannot also be God. Osama has read enough of our articles and refutations to know what
we believe regarding the Trinity of God and the Incarnation of the Lord Jesus. Let us
again repeat our position. The one, true eternal God exists as a tri-personal Being,
meaning that there is more than one Person who is God. Jesus is consistently distinguished
from God for the simple fact that Jesus is not the only Person of God; the Father and the
Holy Spirit are also Persons of God.
In the context of 1 Peter, the inspired Apostle is distinguishing the Lord Jesus from
his Father, and since Jesus is not the Father, this poses no real threat to orthodox
Trinitarian beliefs. In fact, the doctrine of the Trinity entails the belief in the
personal distinction between the Father and the Son. This, therefore, means that Osama
is attacking a straw man here either because he doesn’t know what we believe as
Trinitarians (which we highly doubt) or is deliberately distorting our beliefs in order to
deceive his readers.
Osama’s comment that Psalm 34:8 refers to God misses the point entirely. Osama
doesn’t want to get the fact that since Peter applied this Psalm to Jesus, this means
that Peter believed that Jesus is God! Again, it seems we need to put this in the form of
a syllogism:
Psalm 34:8 refers to Yahweh God.
Peter applies Psalm 34:8 to the Lord Jesus.
Therefore, Peter believed that the Lord Jesus is Yahweh God!
This is really basic and simple, and doesn’t take an Einstein to understand it.
And here is why I choose to address Jesus as Lord:
"But even if you do suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no
fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts reverence Christ as Lord. Always be
prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in
you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence; and keep your conscience clear, so that,
when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
1 Peter 3:14-16
We now repeat Osama’s own words against him:
Thus far, the polytheist pagan idol worshiper Osama Abdallah has absolutely failed to
refute anything!! On the contrary, he has deliberately lied and twisted what the
Holy Bible and the doctrine of the Trinity teach, and got exposed for trying to use
Hebrews 1:9 to disprove the glorious truth of God’s Triunity. It seems that Osama
would rather believe his pagan lie than in the true, Triune God of the Holy Bible.
And we do hope that Osama will repent of his false religion, and refrain from insulting
and blaspheming the true God by his worship of the false god of the Quran. We hope that he
will read this paper and be convicted of his pagan worship and seek the forgiveness of the
true God, Yahweh, by embracing Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Hopefully he, and
other Muslims, will refrain from being mutilators of the true God by their denial of his
glorious Triunity, and no longer insult him by claiming that Muhammad was his prophet.
OSAMA ON ISAIAH 11
A further indication that Osama isn’t qualified to write arguments against the
Bible, or articles defending his false religion, is his habit of consistently repeating
the same point over and over again ad infinitum. This is what we call Osama’s
Mantra Syndrome, a disease for which it seems that no cure is forthcoming.
Osama lives under the delusion that by repeating himself a certain number of times,
he will somehow turn his lies into facts, or at least convince his readers that he is
speaking the truth. Note for instance how many times Osama repeats the same point
throughout his alleged rebuttal:
My response:
Before I let you continue, let me first point out few major problems with this verse
since trinitarians are naturally inclined toward polytheism, paganism and idol worship:
The verse says "Righteous Branch". Is GOD Almighty a branch or
one that comes from anyone's blood line?
2- Jesus was called a "Branch" in other places in the
Old Testament. But this time, let's see how much of a GOD Jesus really is:
1. A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch
will bear fruit.
2. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him (Jesus)-- the Spirit of wisdom and
of understanding, the Spirit of
counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD (Jesus fearing his GOD)--
3. and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he
sees with his eyes, or
decide by what he hears with his ears;

Again:
My response:
This is all fine, except that it doesn't make Jesus the Creator of the Universe.
Again, this branch that was mentioned in Isaiah was said to also have the spirit of
fearing GOD Almighty in him:
1. A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch

The fact that this
"Branch" or final
Messiah or king or person will have the spirit
of fearing GOD Almighty in him clearly and irrefutably means that he is only a creation
from GOD Almighty and not GOD Almighty Himself, no matter how
high your polytheist pagan theology tries to elate him.
And again:
My response:
This point had been refuted above, because there is nothing unique about the Messiah's
title. Like I said above, let me point out few major problems with this verse since
trinitarians are naturally inclined toward polytheism, paganism and idol worship:
The verse says "Righteous Branch". Is GOD Almighty a branch or
one that comes from anyone's blood line?

Hey, where did I hear this one before?
My response:
Specific characteristics? Him fearing GOD Almighty and delight in fearing GOD
Almighty means he is the Creator to you? Hilarious indeed. Also, the names
that I listed above clearly debunk your points! Yes people were called GODLY names
and titles before and after Jesus in the Bible.
Anyway, let me paste the refutation to your "branch" nonsense once again:

Hey Osama, they’re playing your song:
My response:
That is only the wishful thinking from the polytheist trinity paganism lie that you
believe in. As I've shown above, the "Righteous" "Branch" that
was mentioned in Jeremiah and Isaiah was also said to have the spirit of
"fearing" GOD Almighty in
him and he will "delight in the fear of the
LORD". This is a clear proof that the branch will
only be a human Prophet and a creation of GOD Almighty, and not GOD Almighty Himself.
You have yet to answer why did GOD Almighty say that He
will put the Spirit of fearing GOD Almighty in the "branch"?
Ahh, I think we got the point already:
My response:
My challenged has not been refuted. You have not even given a legitimate
response! You miserably failed to trace Mary to the blood line of Solomon. You
miserably failed to even prove that mothers' blood line can be used for family tracing.
You miserably failed to respond to the GODLY names and titles that were given to
many others before and after Jesus in the Bible. And last but not least, your
"branch" point had been soundly debunked by showing and proving that this branch
will have the spirit of fearing GOD Almighty in him and will
"delight in the fear of the LORD".
I wonder how can GOD Almighty fear Himself? And how
can GOD Almighty EVER have any type of fear in Him??!!
We'll let the polytheist trinitarian pagans respond to this point by giving more
humiliating and embaracing [sic] answers to their pagan lie.
He can’t be serious:
My response:
Again, it is both ridiculous and sad that you fail to see the metaphoric speech in all
of the verses above, especially after Jerusalem was called "Yahweh is
Righteousness" in Jeremiah 33:15-16! As I showed above, the Messiah or
Branch was also said to have the spirit of fearing GOD Almighty in him, and he will
delight in the fear of the LORD:

RESPONSE:
Osama repeated his same argument, albeit in a slightly different manner, a total of
seven times! Talk about abuse of chanting! We apologize to our readers for having to
put them through this grueling repetition, but we knew of no better way of showing why
Osama’s articles are really not worth reading, let alone to refute them "paragraph
by paragraph". The only real reason why
we even bother responding to his poor and unscholarly articles is for the sake of our
readers, so they can see for themselves why Muslim apologists like Osama do more damage to
the cause of their own religion than good. They provide objective and rationally minded
persons plenty of good reasons why they should choose Christ and Christianity over
Muhammad and Islam!
What makes this rather interesting is that I already answered Osama on the meaning of
Isaiah 11:1-2 here:
Instead of reinventing the wheel, I will simply post my response from that article
which Osama conveniently chose to forget about:
The one passage I haven’t addressed is Isaiah 11, so I will now address it.
Osama erroneously assumes that since the person referred to in Isaiah (which is Jesus
of course) is inspired by the Spirit of the Lord to fear God, the person in question
cannot also be God at the same time.
Osama’s argument is directly a result of his a priori assumption of
Unitarianism, i.e. that God is one in Being and one in Person. Osama thinks
that since God is only one Person then the shoot of Jesse (i.e. Jesus) cannot be that God.
If he were that God then this basically would imply that he essentially feared himself.
Osama’s logic goes something like this:
God is only one Person.
The shoot of Jesse is both distinct from and fears God.
Therefore, the shoot cannot be God.
The problem with this syllogism is that premise 1 is false since God is not only one
Person according to the Holy Bible. The shoot of Jesse can be both distinct from God and
be God at the same time, precisely what Isaiah stated in an earlier chapter! Isaiah,
under inspiration, wrote:
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the
government shall be upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counselor, The Mighty God (El Gibbor), The Father of Eternity (abi ad),
The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD
Almighty will accomplish this." Isaiah 9:6-7
According to Isaiah, the shoot of Jesse who will reign on his son David’s throne
is the Mighty God himself and the Source of eternal life. Isaiah takes the same titles of
the child and applies them elsewhere to the true God Yahweh:
"A remnant will return, a remnant of Jacob will return to the Mighty God."
Isaiah 10:21
"O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You
have done WONDERFUL things; Your COUNSELS of old are faithfulness and truth."
Isaiah 25:1 NKJV
"LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have
done for us." Isaiah 26:12
"This also comes from the LORD of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel
and excellent in guidance." Isaiah 28:29
"For this is what the high and exalted one says, the one who rules forever,
whose name is holy: ‘I dwell in an exalted and holy place, but also with the
discouraged and humiliated, in order to cheer up the humiliated and to encourage the
discouraged.’" Isaiah 57:15
There are individuals who, sharing Osama's skepticism towards Christianity,
seek to deny that Isaiah 9:6 predicts the coming of the Messiah. Others go
so far as to deny that these are the titles of the child. Jewish Messianic Scholar
and Apologist Dr. Michael L. Brown responds:
"The oldest Jewish translation of Isaiah 9:6[5], found in the Septuagint,
understands all the names as referring to the king, rendering this verse into the Greek
as follows: ‘For a child is born to us, and a son is given to us, whose government
is upon his shoulder: and his name is called the Messenger of great counsel [Megale he
arche]: for I will bring peace on the princes, and health to him.’ The Targum,
while explicitly identifying this as a Messianic prophecy, renders the verse in
Aramaic with an interesting twist, ‘... and his name is called from before the One
who is wonderful in counsel, the mighty God who exists forever, the Messiah, because
there will be abundant peace upon us in his days’ (translated literally). The problem
with this translation, aside from the fact that it is grammatically strained, is that almost
all the names are heaped on God, and only the last two are given to the son - although it
is the naming of this royal child that is central to the verse. How odd! Clearly, the names
refer to the son, not to the Lord who gave them. In other words, the Targumic rendering would
be like saying, ‘And God - the great, glorious, holy, wonderful, eternal, unchangeable
Redeemer and King and Lord - calls his name Joe.’ There is no precedent or parallel to
this anywhere in the Bible and no logical explanation for this rendering, nor is it even a
natural, grammatical rendering of the Hebrew. The characteristics of the royal child are
central - highlighted here by his names - not the characteristics of the Lord. As the
brilliant Hebrew and Rabbinic scholar Franz Delitzsch noted, even Samuel David Luzzato,
one of the greatest Italian rabbis, rightly observed that ‘you do not expect to find
attributes of God here, but such as would be characteristic of the child.’ This
agrees with the Talmudic and midrashic writings, along with the comments of Abraham Ibn
Ezra, all of which state that the names refer to the child." (Brown, Answering
Jewish Objections to Jesus, Volume Three, Messianic Prophecy Objections [Baker Books,
Grand Rapid MI, 2003], pp. 32-33; bold emphasis ours)
In fn. 86, Brown writes:
... Cf. the following Rabbinic statements: ‘R. Yose the Galilean said:
"The name of the Messiah is Peace, for it is said, Everlasting Father, Prince of
Peace"’ (Midrash Pereq Shalom, p. 101); ‘The Messiah is called by eight
names; Yinnon [see Ps. 72:12], Tzemach [e.g., Jer. 23:5]; Pele’ [Wonderful, Isa.
9:6(5)], Yo’etz [Counselor, Isa. 9:6(5)], Mashiach [Messiah], El [God, Isa. 9:6(5)],
Gibbor [Hero, Isa. 9:6(5)], and Avi ‘Ad Shalom [Eternal Father of Peace, Isa.
9:6(5)];’ see Deuteronomy Rabbah 1:20." (Ibid. p. 210)
The great medieval commentator Abraham Ibn Ezra, despite applying the passage to
Hezekiah, admits:
"The correct view in my opinion is that all these are names of the child.
pele’ – because the Lord did wonders in his days. yo’ets –
such was Hezekiah [as it is written], "And the king took counsel" [see 2 Chron. 30:2];
’el gibbor – because he was strong, and the kingdom of the house of David
was prolonged because of him; [abi] ‘ad – the word has the same meaning
as "dwelling in eternity" [in Isa. 57:15]; sar shalom – because
there was peace in his days." (Brown, Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus,
Volume 2, Theological Objections, 2000, p. 46)
Section nine of the Huppat Eliyahu and section 7 of Rabbeinu HaKadosh in
Otsar Midrashim apply all these names to the Messiah.
We see that, unlike Osama, Isaiah had no problem in asserting that the shoot of Jesse
was both distinct from God and was God at the same time.
For more on Isaiah 9:6, please read the following articles:
Now that was from my earlier response to Osama. Here, I would like to add a couple of
additional comments.
As far as God fearing God, as we stated, this is rather simple to answer. Since Jesus
is distinct from God (the Father), and God at the same time, and since Jesus was also
human, he could therefore fear God without this implying that he feared himself. He feared
the Person of the Father. Furthermore, if Jesus were also man (which he was), a man as God
intended man to be, then what kind of man would he have been? An atheist? Or would he be a
God-fearing servant? The perfect man perfectly loves, fears and obeys God, and since Jesus
is that perfect man, he alone has been able to perfectly love, fear, and obey God his
Father.
Osama is also confused regarding the meaning of fear, since his questions presume that
Jesus had some type of dread or terror within himself. On the contrary, the Hebrew word
for ‘fear’ doesn’t necessarily refer to dread or horror, but can simply
refer to having reverence, a loving respect for God’s authority and power.
Again, since Jesus is truly human and the perfect servant, he models within himself
what the perfect servant should be, namely one who loves and reveres God with all his
heart, soul, mind and strength.
Osama asks whether God is a branch, and the obvious answer is: if God chose to be born
as a man, then this means that God would have a human ancestry. And if God chose to take on
a human ancestry, then he would also be a branch (or descendant) of someone. Since Jesus is
God, who chose to become man by being born of the virgin, then Jesus naturally has a human
ancestry, and was therefore a branch, i.e. a descendant of someone, specifically David.
This is precisely what Jesus himself says in the book of Revelation:
"I Jesus have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am
THE ROOT and THE OFFSPRING of David, the bright morning star." Revelation 22:16
Jesus is both the source of life (the root) and descendant (the offspring) of David. In
other words, since Jesus is God, he is David’s Lord and Creator. Being also a man at
the same time, Jesus is also David’s Son. Hence, this is another example of a both/and
situation, as opposed to an either/or dilemma.
OSAMA ON HEZEKIAH
Osama tries to defend against my charge that he keeps changing his views from one paper
to the next:
I am not changing positions. My points were taken from
www.jewsforjudaism.org,
and I only proved that Isaiah 9:6 does not in anyway refer to GOD Almighty since the Jews
themselves have strong evidence that Isaiah 9:6 points to one of their kings. I was
in other words exposing the doubts in the Bible and disproving the polytheist trinity
paganism lie.
RESPONSE:
Osama says he didn’t change positions, even though in one instance he says that
Isaiah 9:6 doesn’t refer to Jesus, while elsewhere he says it does refer to Christ.
So saying that Isaiah 9:6 refers to Hezekiah in one paper, and then saying that it refers
to Jesus in another paper, is not changing one’s position!? I guess Osama has a
different definition of ‘changing positions’.
Furthermore, Osama is rather incoherent here since his appeal to Jews for Judaism
to show that Isaiah 9:6 is referring to one of the kings does nothing to disprove that Isaiah
called the Messiah God Almighty. This is just another example of Osama’s illogical
argumentation since no matter whom the passage refers to, the titles that Isaiah bestows
upon the child inarguably prove that Isaiah believed that the child was God. Thus, to
argue that this child was Hezekiah would only mean that Isaiah believed that Hezekiah was
God incarnate, which he clearly wasn’t, which would then show that Isaiah was
mistaken.
So appealing to Jews for Judaism to show that the King was Hezekiah really does
nothing to undermine the fact that the passage clearly ascribes divine titles to the messianic
King.
It is quite obvious that Osama is trying to save face for being humiliated and exposed
for his incoherent and inconsistent babble.
In this post I will share some of the biblical evidences, which led the first Christians to the conclusion that the one true God is Triune by nature.
One True God
The Bible is clear that there is only one uncreated God who created and sustains all creation. The name
